Here’s an infographic that shows the basics of editing videos, and here are some great tutorials to get started on your way to making awesome videos with the Alight Motion App!
What you will need
– A mobile device with iOS 11 or higher.
– The Alight Motion App (download here)
– A video you want to edit.
– A Bluetooth keyboard if you have one.
Step 1 – Locate your Videos
Open the app and tap on My Videos from the menu. You’ll be able to see all your videos that are saved on your phone. Select a video you want to edit, tap on it, and then tap Edit. Now select one of the editing tools from the left-hand side of your screen. All these different editing options will show up on your right-hand side. When you select one of these options, an overlay will pop up with information about how to use that tool. For example: if I selected Add Titles (1), I would be taken to an overlay where I can type in my text and choose fonts, color schemes, etc…
Step 2 – Select Your Clips
Selecting your clips is one of the first things you should do when editing with Alight. Selecting clips on your phone or tablet is done by clicking and dragging them into your timeline. You can also select all of your clips at once by tapping Select All. When you are done selecting, tap Done in the top left corner.
Step 3 – Add Music
- Add Music – Now that you have your footage and audio, it’s time to add music! Click on the Audio tab and drag in your desired song. You can adjust tempo, volume, and other settings until you find what fits best.

Step 4 – Use Filters & Animations
When you’re done with your video editing, you can choose from several pre-set filters and add overlays or animations. Overlays are essentially images and graphics that can be added on top of your video. You can also import your own overlays from your computer or device. Animations are fancy transitions that allow you to smoothly transition between one part of your video and another.
Step 5 – Add Text Overlays
Text overlays are basically like subtitles. They’re an effective way of adding additional information about what’s happening in your video, as well as saying something that you want people to take away from it. For example, This is how I solved this problem.
Step 6 – Share on Social Media
Share your edited video with friends, family, and clients by posting it on social media. The great thing about posting on these sites is that there are no restrictions as to how long your video should be! There’s also a variety of filters available for you to enhance your videos so they look professional. Be sure to download one of the many free editing apps available so you can get started right aw
