New York City’s Self-Service Portal for NYCHA Tenants: The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) has launched an online portal to make the housing application process more efficient, as well as allow NYC residents to receive various notices and reports online, too. You can log in to this self-service portal with your NYCHA account or register if you do not already have one by visiting the Housing Online Self-Service Portal. To register, you’ll need your (1) name, (2) address, and (3) social security number.

This system gives tenants faster and easier access to important documents. The tenant can also take care of payments, check their balance, and much more. This can all be done from home or even on a mobile device. It is going to save tenants time and money while giving them more convenience than they have ever had before with housing authorities. What are some key features?: One of the biggest benefits that come with online portals is that it allows for better communication between landlords and tenants. Landlords will be able to make announcements quickly and provide information about rent increases, maintenance issues, lease renewals, and other relevant information.
What do you need to know about your housing application?
NYC Housing Connect allows you to submit applications, check the status of your application, and make payments online. To apply, you will need information about your household’s size (total number of people in your household) and income. You will also need to provide information about where you live now and whether or not you have roommates. When applying, it is best to bring together all of your household’s income information in one place so that you can accurately report it. For example, if you are a homeowner who receives rental income from a tenant living with you, be sure to include that amount on your application. If there are individuals living with you who are not part of your household (such as a roommate), they will need to complete their applications using their names and addresses. If there are any changes to your household size or income after applying, please contact us right away so we can update our records.

To sign up for text alerts, residents should register on nycha.nyc.gov/alerts using their tenant ID number as provided by NYCHA staff when they signed up for an appointment with an agency representative during one of its many open enrollment periods throughout each year.
